Jannette Scarpino

Throughout Jannette’s career in finance, she was involved in coaching in one way or another, as a mentor, instructor, and manager. Her interest in executive coaching came about after seeking coaching with Russell Owens at VIM Executive Coaching, from which she realized the connection between meditation, mindfulness, and business success.

Jannette has diverse experience in financial management and planning, corporate finance, banking and treasury, and accounting. She has held senior financial roles in the for profit, non-profit, and public sectors. She has expertise in developing financial strategies and in bringing financial perspectives to business decisions.

Her career started in corporate banking, and after many years in that industry she made a career change and became a CPA. She spent time in public accounting, became treasurer of a public company, then budget director for the Denver Regional Transportation District’s $2 billion budget. Most recently, she served as CFO of the Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment, where she led the financial services team of 50.  

In addition to her CPA designation, Jannette has an MBA from the University of Denver and a BA in political science. She has served as a Board Member of Smart Girl, an organization dedicated to empowering young girls, and currently serves on the Board of The Conflict Center, which provides skills and training to address everyday conflict through relationship building. She has also taught Accounting at Metropolitan State University of Denver.

Jannette is passionate about servant leadership, which focuses primarily on the growth and well-being of people and the communities to which they belong. She views leadership as an act of service and a conscious choice to better serve others. Her leadership objective is to assist people to perform as highly as possible in organizational settings. She advocates the importance of self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
