Scott’s commitment to excellence is a driving force in everything he does. A compassionate and thoughtful coach, he is self-assured and possesses a high level of emotional intelligence (EQ). He finds working with clients gratifying, especially when he has the opportunity to help them find clarity in decision-making and build confidence in themselves.
With a Bachelor of Arts degree in biology and a minor in philosophy from the University of Vermont, Scott launched his career in the ski and snowboard industry, beginning in sales and working his way up the ladder to senior management roles. Along the way, Scott’s entrepreneurial spirit guided him to start two successful businesses – an independent sales agency, and a consumer products company in which he and his wife developed a product idea, taking it from conception to market.
Scott’s professional experience has provided him with a deep understanding of consumer psychology across many market segments, and he has been an advisor to several brands. He has navigated corporate reorganizations and managed teams through challenging economic times.
With a coaching practice grounded in EQ and self-awareness, Scott enjoys employing his knowledge to help clients create high performing cultures through an accessible, compassionate, high EQ approach to leadership. “I’ve seen the positive effects it can have on the performance of a team,” he says. “I’ve also been in situations where leaders lacked these values and skills. The effects on output are astounding.”
Scott aspires to live a life of mindful, thoughtful response rather than quick reactions. “I believe it makes me a better person to be around, a better father, a more powerful leader, and a better coach.”
“I try to live life through a lens of gratitude as much as possible,” he says, “This, in turn, allows me to see even the most challenging situations with a what-lessons-can-be-learned-from-this lens, which helps generate positive energy for me and those around me.”
